Partnering with the Global Orphan Project

I am very excited to announce that we have partnered with the Global Orphan Project, a non-profit that is based here in Kansas City and helps children all over the world.  The Green Bean has committed to giving $1 from every bag sold to GO and we couldn't be happier, specifically our funds will be going directly to Haiti!  Below is more information about GO and the amazing work they do and some wonderful photos of some of the children they have helped in Haiti.

The Global Orphan Project, Inc. (‘GO Project’ or ‘GO’) is a global orphan care ministry headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. GO Project mobilizes local churches in some of the poorest areas on earth to care for the neediest orphaned and vulnerable children in their communities; children of last resort with no viable means of care. A vibrant, viral network of global givers fuels the growth of this grassroots movement for orphans.

1.2 billion people live on less than $1 per day. Among them are millions of orphaned and abandoned children. In 2003, God used a mission trip to Asia to pierce Mike and Beth Fox's hearts for orphans. He gave them a life-defining love for the least of these. Soon thereafter, they started a ministry, which grew into what The Global Orphan Project (GO Project) is today. In the years since, God's hand has moved on individuals, families, churches, and businesses all over the U.S. and beyond to care for thousands of orphaned and abandoned children around the world.

Because key donors cover The Global Orphan Project's overhead, 100% of every dollar given to the care of children goes to the care of children. GO Project partners with local churches where we work to help provide orphaned and abandoned children with love and care from a house mama, a home to live in, two meals a day, an education, access to medical care, and the Good News of Jesus Christ. GO Project currently works in 15 countries around the world and cares for 3,500 children, which includes more than 2,000 children living in 24 partner-led children's villages in Haiti.
